What is business analysis?

Answered by Anurag Singhal

Business analysis is an exercise that inspects needs for business prospects and recommends appropriate solutions. It enables an enterprise to look for customer's needs in order to address an existing problem. As an outcome, business analysis brings change and suggests solutions that can deliver business value. The outcome of business analysis can be best measured by the value delivered to customers by the suggested solution.

For example - the invention of the ATM machine solved the problem of long queues inside banks. It also enabled the banks to focus on expanding their core business. Value delivered to customers is that they are now able to withdraw money anytime and from anywhere in the world. I believe that the invention of ATMs and the facilitation of net banking are revolutionary products in the banking industry and are providing great value to all bank customers.
