Why Am I Getting Emails From Mailer-Daemon@Googlemail.Com?
Few months back, I got emails from Mail Delivery Subsystem. Although this was an automatic failure email, I felt these were spam emails. But today, I got numerous emails. These emails are delivered from mailer-daemon@googlemail.com, and states that “MYEMAIL@aol.com couldn’t be found”. “MYEMAIL” refers to the email that is getting the messages, however with domain “aol.com”.
There is a linked file in the emails, such as diets and wines. I got these emails in the usual manner. I was getting spam with the identical subject, and at a point it was transformed to mailer-daemon. Why is this occurring?
Email acts similar to a virtual postal system. On delivering a message, it goes straight to the server known as mailer-daemon. The server transfers the message to different servers unless the message is offered to the recipient. In case the delivery fails, a mailer-daemon error message pops up and delivers back to the actual sender. faced this problem with a different email provider. Somebody could fetch my email id, but not the password. My email address was deployed as the reply-to or the sent-from address on the spam mail. However, your email is secured.
Example is given below:
Through whatever means, I notice that a valid e-mail address is Mycroft@googlemail.com. Now, I can authenticate to another mail server, say postoffice.com. I can then use a sendmail program that does something like this:
to: JoeBloggs@aol.com
from: Mycroft@googlemail.com
Subject: Best Diet Program Ever!!
Body: blah, blah, blah.

You will receive the mailer-daemon message.
You can also follow the below-mentioned steps if you receive mailer-daemon spam.
Scan the system and devices for malware.
Do not forget to Report the mailer-daemon spam as junk email.
Inform your contacts.
The issue occurs due to many reasons. While sending an email message, it is checked by the mailer-daemon server. You get the emails due to sending email to an account that does not exist since the domain has changed. Also, the account may be incorrectly typed and allows whitelisted email addresses to deliver messages.
