Using multiple notifications.

Sending multiple notifications for the same alert should be avoided in order not to flood user’s mailbox and making alerts more noticeable instead of getting ignored.

The best way is to define each service when the notification mail needs to be sent i.e. when the host is down, unreachable, scheduled downtime etc.

The notifications options give these flexibility as to when and at what state the notifications mail need to be triggered .

Options like - d, u, r, f, s, w (warning) etc. need to be enabled at the time of configuration for which notifications mail need to be triggered.
