Linux is an operating system just like windows,solaris. It was introduced in around mid-1990’s. In today’s world it's been used everywhere like in phones, refrigerators, cars, televisions also world’s top 500 supercomputers run linux.

The main reason is that the linux platform is one of most reliable, secure and easy to understand/operate operating systems.

 Linux OS comprises of following components-

 Bootloader

 Kernel

 Init System

 Daemons

 Applications

Linux also used SSH (Secure shell hosting) via which it becomes very easy to access it from any corner of the world.
