How to install sql server 2017

One of the most popular professional database servers in the market is Microsoft SQL Server. Now let’s have a look at the steps of installing Microsoft SQL Server 2017:

In the first step visit the official page of Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Download Page.

In the second step, you need to make an important choice by selecting the edition that you need to download.

Once you decide on the edition, click on the download button below the selected edition and this will help you in downloading the installation Wizard.

Now, in this step, the Wizard will allow you to select an installation type of your choice. You may choose Custom installation, as it will leverage you to select any of the extended tools of your choice.

Then in the next step, for the installation folder, you would be asked to choose a directory. Here you may leave it as Default or select a custom installation directory.

Here in this step click the install button to download the installation packages.

You need to select the New SQL Server Stand Alone installation, once the installation package is downloaded,

Then you find a setup process on the next screen, once it gets completed, click Next.

Now there would appear some license terms, kindly got through them and click Accept

Then you would be able to see the Feature Selection Screen, where you would be able to choose the SQL Server 2017 features that you would like to install.

In this next step, you would be taken to a screen where you may specify a Named instance for your installation.

Then in the next step, you would see a SQL Server Configuration screen that needs to be left untouched.

Now, you would see Database Engine Configuration settings. If you’d like to have the option to connect to databases through both Windows and SQL Server authentication, check Mixed Mode.

Click next in this step and you would see the complete summary of the process.

You may click Close to finish in this step once the installation is finished.
