So, if you’re fulfilling the requirement then the trend line can be done. For example, if I have to create a side-by-side chart for yearly sales trends for different categories then we can show trend. All you have to do is convert the year from discrete to continuous to satisfy the trend line requirement. Once done just right click on chart and select trend line which will look like below-
